Letter to Community Regarding Bus Transportation

Dear Aiea Intermediate School Community,

I am writing to inform you about an important and recent development as we approach the start of the new school year. Unfortunately, we will not have bus service available when school begins.

This decision was not made lightly by Hawaii Department of Education Leadership and we understand the inconvenience it may cause. Several factors, including contractor staffing shortages and logistical challenges, have contributed to this situation. We are actively working to resolve these issues and hope to reinstate bus service as soon as possible. Furthermore, please read the attached letter carefully as it describes the situation more in detail and includes possible transportation options if you are impacted.

In the meantime, we encourage families to explore alternative transportation options, such as carpooling, coordinating with neighbors, or one of the other options outlined in the attached letter.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation. We will keep you updated on any developments and are committed to finding a solution that ensures the safe and timely transportation of our students.

Thank you for your patience and support.
