September 2024 AIS Ohana Newsletter

Dear AIS Families,

We’re thrilled to share that our students have made a smooth transition to middle school life during the first month. Our dedicated teachers have been creating a welcoming and supportive environment, greeting students at the door each morning to make them feel valued and included. Our beginning of the school year student assemblies have provided opportunities for students to connect with their peers and learn important school-wide messages. We’re also grateful for our families’ commitment to punctuality and attendance, as arriving at school on time ensures they don’t miss any valuable learning opportunities. Thank you for your continued support of our students and our school. We look forward to another fantastic year together!

In addition, if you are reporting an absence, please adhere to the guidelines outlined in the Student Handbook. Specifically, if your child will be absent from school for an extended amount of time (e.g., family trip), please submit a letter to the principal stating your child’s full legal name, reason for absence, and dates of absence for authorization and documentation. Failure to contact the school of an absence may result in the absence being recognized as unauthorized and undocumented. Please note, although “family trips” are an unexcused absence, we encourage our families to still provide a note to document the absence.

Mahalo!
